What is the Activator Method?

The activator method was designed by Dr. Arlan W. Fhur. His goal was to create an instrument that produced predictable and reliable results. The Activator Method Technique utilizes specific procedures to detect spinal joint dysfunction, analyze leg length inequality, detect body mechanics problems, and test neurological reflexes.

What is the Activator Method Instrument (tool)?

An Activator in an unique hand-held instrument that was specifically engineered to give a very precise, “low force” adjustment to patients in oder to treat misalignments. The Activator instrument delivers a controlled, light, and fast thrust, without causing undue strain to patients.

Activator adjustments are faster than a muscle’s reflex, allowing for an easy and exact adjustment, with less muscle resistance. This allows an Activator doctor to restore normal function to a joint without having to “crack” it.

Why Use the Activator?

Many patients find the twisting and “cracking” of other chiropractic techniques to be uncomfortable or disconcerting. With the use of the Activator, such twisting and “cracking” are not needed for adjustments.

The quickness of the adjustment with the Activator, and the low force needed to correct misalignments, makes it a good tool and technique to use with people of all ages.
